Filming Blog
My second day of filming was on Tuesday, October 5th. Today I had a better hang of everything and moved at a quicker pace. Fortunately, I finished filming all of my scenes and had some help on the way. The first shot I was taking was the second-to-last scene. This is where I had to be in front of the camera with Lili (who is playing "Leila"). We were shooting the part where "Leila" had to drop all of her extras to the floor, including notebooks and a water bottle. This was probably the shot that took the most takes due to the fact that Lili and I could not stop laughing. I was having fun while filming, however this caused us to take up much time. During this, Aleiah was behind the camera telling us when to start acting. My group was already sweating before we even pressed the button to start the video. The heat was disrupting us since we started to turn red and our eyes were tearing up, but we were able to get through it in the end. An error that I worked around was when I had to proclaim the name "Leila". My group and I made the mistake of giving the main character this name, because the person who is playing it, Lili, has an extremely similar name. Therefore, I repeatedly said Lili, her actual name, instead of "Leila". Nevertheless, I got the shot I wanted and proceeded to the next scene where I needed the assistance of two other people. I did not want to disturb other groups that were diligently working, but the two people that my group asked said they were done filming and that they had no problem helping us in what we needed. I explained to them the concept of the "Home Alone 2" movie and they knew what to do right away. I first shot the scene where Aleiah had to pass it to the girl that lended a hand to us. Then she passed it to a guy, and lastly he passed the book bag to me. The only troubles during this process was finding more book bags to give the idea that JanSport has multiple designs and colors. On that account, I had to look around with my group asking people for backpacks and we found two undeniably kind people that had no issue supplying us with their bag for the shots we needed. After everything, I was so happy to have finished recording on the second day with all the essential scenes.
