Filming Blog

My group and I did our first day of filming on September 29. We needed other props to record some of the scenes, therefore we did what we could with what we had at the moment. Our roles this day varied from person to person. Lili changed her outfit to look more vintage which will be the theme for our commercial. In addition, Lili who is playing "Leila" was acting as if she had forgotten her backpack in the first scene that we were able to take. Aleiah who is sitting next to her does a little shuffle and looks to both sides as if she were confused and then ran out of the camera. This was our first scene that we took, because we all decided that it would be a good idea to have our base done before we continue shooting the rest of the commercial. The middle part of our commercial could not be completed yet, because as I had said earlier, we were missing some props. With the time remaining, we then shot the last scene where "Leila" is walking up the stairs. Therefore, o

First Scene:  During this scene two girls are sitting on a ledge, where Lili  (in the movie she will be called “Leila”)  and Aleiah are dangling their feet.  Leila is holding her backpack between her legs. This shot will  be an angle just of their legs with the backpack being the center of attention. This would be the intriguing  introduction to our commercial.   Second Scene:  In this next scene, the  bell rings  (the sound of the bell will be inserted) , which leads to Leila dropping her backpack  due to the fact that  she feels that she is late.   While  leaving  in a  hurry , she forgets her backpack and doesn’t bring it with her .  Her friend  stands  up with Leila’s backpack, does a quick  dance with her  feet  while holding the backpack  in front of the camera , and starts running  towards another student  in the end goal of getting the bookbag back to Leila.  The whole shot includes this scene and the first which are in a low camera angle only showing the legs down.   Third  S

Props :  Because my group and I are producing a JanSport commercial, our main props are JanSport backpacks. This will include various designs and colors. To pursue this and be able to include several JanSport backpacks, we will ask for permission from other students to use it in the commercial. Additional props that will be included are notebooks, a water bottle, a binder, and a volleyball.   Costumes :  In this commercial, there will be multiple people participating, and each one of them will be wearing clothes that students casually wear during school, such as jeans, cropped or loose shirts, and sneakers. We also want the uniform to be vintage, therefore we could be wearing flannels or large long-sleeved shirts. The part under the waist could be any form of jeans or pants. Furthermore, at the beginning of the advertisement, the camera will start at an angle where it only shows the feet of two or three people. Therefore, they should wear high top shoes to fit the mood.   Schedule : On

My group is doing a JanSport commercial. To research this project, we watched several different backpack commercials. In the official Patagonia commercials, there were relationships between the backpack and the location of the video. For instance, in one of the commercials we watched the actor was hiking in the woods due to the fact that Patagonia is a backpack that is made for long trudges. In the official JanSport video there was also a link between the commercial and their slogan which is “Discover Freedom.” This is as a result of the backpack being used in films to go to various locations. Additionally, it was shown by having kids run around, skateboard, and sneak out of their house with the backpack on. JanSport has great credibility when it comes to being durable too. They showed this in one of their commercials by having kids throw and drag the bookbag throughout different scenes. To further our knowledge, we also watched an Adidas backpack commercial. Since Adidas is a brand us

My group consists of three people, Lili Amblard, Aleiah Luster, and myself. We had surprisingly never met each other before the new school year had started. We walked into class on the first day without knowing anyone and sat next to each other. Since then we have adapted to each other very well and know what capabilities each of us contain. To begin, Lili is a great asset to the team, because she is so sweet and gets her work done on time without procrastinating which keeps all of us on task as well. Also, she has a keen eye to anything that doesn't seem right or should be adjusted. Equally as important, Aleiah is patient and present in every conversation which gives us effective communication. Additionally, she has a brain full of amazing ideas that will work in favor to produce an excellent final product. Lastly, I will also make a remarkable impact to the group by providing the team with my skills for art, design ideas, and film-making suggestions. I will contribute by guarante

My name is Angie Mendez and I am 15 years old. I was born on November 21, 2005 and I am a sophomore at Fort Lauderdale High School. I chose AICE Media Studies, because I have always possessed a liking in films and production. When I was younger, I would ask myself how the movies were made, how the characters moved, and how it all ended up as one great final product. A little about myself is that I love to paint and draw with any chance I acquire. I have had this passion for design since I was little and continue to enjoy it as a hobby to pass time. In addition, I love anything related to math. It intrigues me to use numbers and solve problems to have an ultimate answer in the end. In fact, all of my math classes in school always wind up being my favorite subjects to attend and participate. Furthermore, I adore spending quality time with my family. I was born in Florida, however my entire family is from Colombia. Having a large family is appreciable when you need support on something or
