Intro Blog

My name is Angie Mendez and I am 15 years old. I was born on November 21, 2005 and I am a sophomore at Fort Lauderdale High School. I chose AICE Media Studies, because I have always possessed a liking in films and production. When I was younger, I would ask myself how the movies were made, how the characters moved, and how it all ended up as one great final product. A little about myself is that I love to paint and draw with any chance I acquire. I have had this passion for design since I was little and continue to enjoy it as a hobby to pass time. In addition, I love anything related to math. It intrigues me to use numbers and solve problems to have an ultimate answer in the end. In fact, all of my math classes in school always wind up being my favorite subjects to attend and participate. Furthermore, I adore spending quality time with my family. I was born in Florida, however my entire family is from Colombia. Having a large family is appreciable when you need support on something or just want a shoulder to lean on.  My immediate family consists of both my parents and my brother. They would recognize me as being a genuine, smart, funny, organized, thoughtful, kind, and reliable young woman. Moreover, in school I have consistently done an outstanding job. I have received many awards for my significant efforts and I will continue to work hard to grant myself with even more opportunities for the future. Currently, I am in a club called Best Buddies, which is a chance to help kids who don't have the same abilities as many teenagers. We give a helping hand to the disabled kids with their homework, spend time with them so they don't feel lonely, and talk with them, therefore not only we have made a new friend but they can feel like they have as well. With some last facts about me, I am bilingual speaking English and Spanish (hopefully French soon), I am taking four AICE classes this school year, and a career goal I am possibly looking to pursue is business management. In conclusion, I am excited to see what this class, AICE Media Studies, brings to my growth as a young woman, and perhaps future career paths.

Production Blog: Props

Before my group and I start filming, I want to give a brief overview of the props that I will be using throughout my film. First, I will need to buy a bulletin board for the scene where the stalker's room is shown. Here, there will be pictures of Chloe and her information including birth certificates, grade reports, and other legal documents. There will be manila folders that one of my groupmates bought and red yard with push pins to make the scene look even more realistic and set the creepy aesthetic. The picture of "Chloe" is really an image of Lili, one of my groupmates. She is still having difficulty choosing a picture but the film will be better-suited if it was a close-up portrait with just her in it. This will allow the viewer to see that Rachel, the stalker, is strictly keen on Chloe. There will be pictures in the folder and an additional portrait in a frame that we must buy as well. Filming Blog

My group and I did our first day of filming on September 29. We needed other props to record some of the scenes, therefore we did what we could with what we had at the moment. Our roles this day varied from person to person. Lili changed her outfit to look more vintage which will be the theme for our commercial. In addition, Lili who is playing "Leila" was acting as if she had forgotten her backpack in the first scene that we were able to take. Aleiah who is sitting next to her does a little shuffle and looks to both sides as if she were confused and then ran out of the camera. This was our first scene that we took, because we all decided that it would be a good idea to have our base done before we continue shooting the rest of the commercial. Schedule: 3/18/22-3/21/22: During these dates the filming will begin. While filming throughout these dates we will film the beginning half of the film. We will try to film at least 15 scenes throughout these two days. 3/23/22-3/24/22: These are the filming dates for the second and final half of the film. We will be finishing the last 15 scenes throughout these dates. 3/25/22-4/1/22: The editing will begin immediately. Throughout the span of the dates, the final touches and decisions will be made here. We will be editing our film on Adobe Premiere Pro and CapCut.
