Creative Critical Reflection

Music Video Blog

My group and I have finally finished the filming and editing. I am glad to say that I have learned a lot during this process. I was able to improve on conducting specific moods through filming, and how the angles and lighting play such important roles in the setting. I am very satisfied with the outcome of my video, although it has been a bit stressful at times. The editing part was by far the toughest, while filming went overly smoothly, thanks to my great group mates. By comparing the music video to my commercial, I am seeing great changes and efforts. Not only did the acting get better, but my skills in filming and editing as well. By exploring the editing app I’ve used, I discovered many new options that have greatly helped me achieve my goal by creating a well-made music video. In conclusion, I am far from being disappointed and I am highly grateful for my great group mates that have made it easier to make a good project. I look forward to continue working with them in the future.

Production Blog - Backup Plan

During the filming of my music video, there were many interruptions and bumps. First of all, my group and I had planned to finish our film on the day we had went to Lili's house. However, Brianna and Hannah's mom would not let them leave the house, therefore we planned to go another day. We took many hours finding a day where we were all available. Brianna and Hannah had to go to sporting practices, Lili had plans with her mom, Aleiah had cheerleading practice, and I had family reunions. We were still anticipating to go to the mall for the missing clip. However, we thought to ourselves and realized it would be extremely hard with all of our schedules. Therefore, I came up with the idea to film right after school at an ice cream shop, Dairy Queen, right next to our school. The shot we needed was 6.7 seconds. On December 10 we

Production Blog - Editing the Music Video

After my group and I had completed filming most of the music video, I began editing. We continued to use the same application that we had been using so far, CapCut. Since the recording was done on my phone, we airdropped it to a laptop for better quality and smoother control of the editing. First, I looked at all of the takes my group and I took. I chose the takes that looked the best and asked my group for agreement. After I found our shots, I inserted them into CapCut. For some clips I had to shorten them due to the fact that I had to make the visuals and audio go well together. For some parts we had to cut some of our content to be able to fit the maximum time. Then, I asked my group if we should’ve added a filter, however they felt it was better without and I agreed. We rewatched our edited film to see if it was good as it was, but we altered and added some things. At the beginning for the first shot I included a fade-in to give it a more majestic introduction. Additionally, I inse
