Production Blog: Evening of Filming Day
I made a checklist, as I said in my previous blog, that separated what we need to film in the daytime and nighttime. This helped me become better organized and make everything flow easily throughout the filming process. I noticed we had few things to film with the sun out so my group and I decided to get straight into that. First, my group and I filmed what would be the end of my 2-minute movie. The first thing we did was record when Lili awakes from her dream due to her friends arriving and ringing the doorbell. I had taken my alarm clock as a prop to show the time it is when she wakes up. I recorded because I had an idea on what angles we wanted. I pictured using a high angle shot to make the dream Lili was thinking of seem more chaotic. Lili acted as if she was in despair and stressed by what she had just imagined. Then, Aleiah, Brianna, and I were filmed ringing the doorbell. Lili acted as if she was greeting us and welcomed us into her home. After I were done with this, my group and I were done until it would become dark outside. Therefore, we decided to hang out in the meanwhile. We all went walking to the Publix that was near Lili's house to buy more food. Here, I bought my food and my drink from Starbucks, then walked with my group to the mall. All of us ate in the food court of the mall. Next, we went to different stores to waste time. The first place we went to was a Dillard's where they sell many clothes, shoes, and accessories. My group and I decided to try on dresses. This was a first-time experience doing this with anyone for me where we would try on dresses but not even buy them. It was only to admire the dresses and laugh around. It was very exhilarating and fun in my opinion. After this, my friends and I continued walking around and then realized it was time to start heading back home. When we got back it still wasn't dark out so we decided to play a game called "What Do You Meme?" I cherish the moments we spent here. Finally, it was getting dark outside so we began to film the entire beginning of my group and I's movie. The order of the different killings that we filmed were Aleiah's, mine, and lastly Lili's. I used the fake blood that I had bought to use as a prop and the white face paint to put it on my face when I became the creepy little girl. Also, my group and I had to use a real knife to make it look realistic on camera. Overall, I had much fun and enjoyed spending time with my friends while filming this movie.
