Production Blog: Deciding the Next Filming Date

My group has had difficulties deciding a free day where we are all free to film. However, we are dedicated to filming on Thursday to finally finish our film. Something that worries me is not having enough scenes to complete the entire 5 minutes. I am hoping to edit some of the scenes together to see how much time it has made up. Then with this information we could film additional scenes on Thursday, if needed. I feel it is the best choice to make collectively with my group mates the ensure we will appropriately complete this task. On Thursday, we will be filming the coffee shop scene with the friends where it will be Aleiah, Lili, and I. Chloe (Lili) will announce her suspicions to her friends where she will say that she has noticed that someone has been following her. The friends will react and help her come up with a plan. Additionally, the final scene we will need to film, which will also be the final scene in the short film, is the attacking part. This is the most exciting and thrilling part of the movie which will grasp the attention of the viewer. We expect the audience to be on the toes, wondering what will happens next. I will record this scene with my phone again and use my knowledge with the different angles and movements to make it as exhilarating as I can. For this scene, Hannah will teach Lili karate moves to make the switch from Rachel attacking Chloe to Chloe attacking Rachel. This will most likely take some time since we have to make it seem realistic without physically hurting anyone. It will have to take place at night since it will be happing after shopping at the mall for some hours. Therefore, on this day of filming we will need to wait u til the sun goes down a little. This will give the ambience a more mysterious sense and intrigue the audience even more. I want to make sure we get it at the perfect lighting, so we will need to complete this scene on time before it is too dark to even film. I hope the shots have good lighting and clearness to it. This karate scene had many complexities to it in the beginning. We were gonna switch the characters of Lili and Hannah but we felt their looks went best with those of their assigned characters. Consequently, we will need to teach Lili the correct moves. This will take some time so we will begin yo practice starting from today. I will make sure no one is hurt in the process. This day of filming will be a success and will complete the production of our thrilling movie.

Before my group and I start filming, I want to give a brief overview of the props that I will be using throughout my film. First, I will need to buy a bulletin board for the scene where the stalker's room is shown. Here, there will be pictures of Chloe and her information including birth certificates, grade reports, and other legal documents. There will be manila folders that one of my groupmates bought and red yard with push pins to make the scene look even more realistic and set the creepy aesthetic. The picture of "Chloe" is really an image of Lili, one of my groupmates. She is still having difficulty choosing a picture but the film will be better-suited if it was a close-up portrait with just her in it. This will allow the viewer to see that Rachel, the stalker, is strictly keen on Chloe. There will be pictures in the folder and an additional portrait in a frame that we must buy as well. My group and I did our first day of filming on September 29. We needed other props to record some of the scenes, therefore we did what we could with what we had at the moment. Our roles this day varied from person to person. Lili changed her outfit to look more vintage which will be the theme for our commercial. In addition, Lili who is playing "Leila" was acting as if she had forgotten her backpack in the first scene that we were able to take. Aleiah who is sitting next to her does a little shuffle and looks to both sides as if she were confused and then ran out of the camera. This was our first scene that we took, because we all decided that it would be a good idea to have our base done before we continue shooting the rest of the commercial. Schedule: 3/18/22-3/21/22: During these dates the filming will begin. While filming throughout these dates we will film the beginning half of the film. We will try to film at least 15 scenes throughout these two days. 3/23/22-3/24/22: These are the filming dates for the second and final half of the film. We will be finishing the last 15 scenes throughout these dates. 3/25/22-4/1/22: The editing will begin immediately. Throughout the span of the dates, the final touches and decisions will be made here. We will be editing our film on Adobe Premiere Pro and CapCut.
