Production Blog: Editing
I have finally finished filming for my movie. I am extremely happy for all that we’ve accomplished so far. My group and I have worked very hard and diligently to get to where we are right now. The next thing on my list is to edit the scenes together. In class, I added all of our best clips together. When I did this the film was past 2 minutes but I wasn’t worried since we have to edit a lot out. Then, once Lili and I started to shorten the shots I came to the realization that our time was going to be lower than what we needed. My group and I had to discuss a lot over this. All of us came to the conclusion that we would need to meet up again to record more to scenes to insert. This would allow us to meet the requirements. Thus, my group and I planned to film on Sunday when we are all free. Additionally, we kept editing what we could since we still had 1 minute 41 seconds done. The first thing we did was work on the sound. I added in the creepy music that was decided earlier. I also put the sound of the doorbell ringing and knife scratching against wood. I made sure the shots were cut exactly to where they needed to be. We filtered some of the shots to make it seem more eerie. Also, I made the jump cuts precise and shocking. Lastly, I put in some credits for what we had so far. I looked at my storyboard as a guideline. We changed the font that we had in mind to another one that felt fit the storyline better. All in all, I had a lot of fun filming with my group and we all agreed on our next steps.
