Production Blog: Second Day of Filming

My team did it! We found a date where we could all go even if it was for a short amount of time. Lili had a babysitting job at 5 p.m., so my group really had to hurry. At the same time, it still had to be good and not looked rushed because it would show in the film. To begin, there were some troubles with transportation. After school, Lili and I expected our entire group to go together in my car to Lili's house and make it easier and faster for everyone. However, when the bell had rung to leave school Hannah left with her mom and Aleiah with her sister. Lili and I continued with our plans and went to eat something before going to film. Then, Aleiah and Hannah let us know that they were going on their own. So, Lili and I made a quick stop at McDonald's and coincidentally, Hannah and Aleiah had gone to a Chick-Fil-A right next to us. We found out afterwards when we saw each other again at Lili's house. Once we were all done eating, we got out of the car and went inside the house so that Hannah and Lili could change into their costumes. For this, Chloe (Lili) had to wear "nice" shoes since Rachel (Hannah) was going to compliment them in one of the scenes. However, as a last-minute change, my group and I thought it would be better if instead Lili wore ugly shoes so that it would be suspicious that Rachel is complimenting them. My team all agreed since it would be ironic, and we hope that the audience understands that part since I also had a shot of her showing the shoes. We took many shots here at Publix, because we couldn't find the right place to shoot it at inside the store. Also, there were many employees, so it was a bit awkward. At one point when we were filming, one of the employees just stood there watching us. It was EXTREMELY weird. I felt very uncomfortable because he wasn't even working... he was STARING. Due to this, we all left the aisle and came back in a few minutes. My group quickly finished up and then we went to the mall to film the coffee shop scene. We decided to go to the mall since it would be more spacious, but by that time Lili urgently had to leave. So, we tried as quick as we could to film that scene where the friends are conversing, but we didn't like how it turned out. We decided to just leave it for the next time we meet up.
